Library Policies

New Patrons

  • New patrons are asked to complete a library application with their name, address, and phone number. Additional family members may also be added at this time.

Check-Out Procedures

  • First, print full name and library card number on circulation card. (If children cannot print their full name, a parent must check out the materials for them.)
  • Next, stamp books and their corresponding circulation cards with the due date. Place circulation card in the card box on counter. A librarian will mark the due date on videos, DVDs, audios, and periodicals borrowed.

Returns

  • Materials may be returned inside the library or in the book drop outside the library after-hours.

Renewals

  • Renewals may be done in person only - with the item present.
  • An item may be renewed if there is not a reserve on the item for another patron.
  • If the item is overdue, the fine must be paid prior to renewal.

Overdue Materials

  • Overdue fines may be given to the library staff. If it is after-hours, simply place your fine within the item and place in the book-drop outside the library.
  • Lost or damaged library materials will be charged to the patron at the current replacement price.
  • The library reserves the right to limit further check-outs if several items are overdue.

Reserves

  • To reserve an item, see a librarian.
  • When the item becomes available, the patron will be called.
  • If the reserved items are not picked up within one week, the item will go to the next person on the reserve list, or placed back into circulation.
