Missions Prayer Team
On a regular basis, this group prays for specific needs of our missionaries. In addition, as we receive urgent prayer requests, we send them to this team. We need additional volunteers. Contact Muriel Olenik, 847.308.0658.
Missionary Care Team
Throughout the year, there are teams of people who, as individuals and as a group, come alongside specific missionaries by praying for them and helping to meet their special needs. If interested in joining a Care Team, contact Judy Gruber, 847.459.3735.
Christian Advocacy Now (CAN)
“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:3)
Last Sunday of the month, 6-8 PM, Parlor (Arlington Heights Campus)
Many of our Christian brothers and sisters in other parts of the world are suffering because they want to follow Christ. Join us to pray for those who are oppressed around the world, especially those who are persecuted for their faith. We write letters to people imprisoned for their faith and to political leaders, interceding on behalf of particular individuals and encouraging governmental leaders to address and uphold human rights within their countries' borders. White Cross is part of the compassion ministries of the Evangelical Free Church of America. The Orchard group provides needed items for hospitals, orphans and widows in the Congo. The group also provides handmade quilts given to local ministry needs. For more information, contact Muriel Olenik, 847.308.0658.
Child's Sponsorship
The Orchard has two sponsorship programs for needy children in our world:
Hope for Kidz is a child sponsorship program of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church at our sister church in Astruc, Haiti. The Astruc Church has a school in which there are 215 students, many of whom cannot afford to attend and thus need sponsors. For $250 annually, you can sponsor a child. Sponsorships are one year at a time, voluntarily renewed each year. If you would like more information, contact Amy Wilson, 847.401.7225.
GlobalFingerprints is an orphan sponsorship program of TouchGlobal, the Compassion Ministry of the Evangelical Free Church of America. We encourage support for orphans in Congo. Almost 15% of children in Congo are orphans, due to tragedies such as AIDS, poverty, war, and lack of medical care. Through GlobalFingerprints, these orphans can attend school, receive medical care, and live with their extended family or with another loving family in their area.
