Awana Volunteers Arlington Heights

Make a difference in a child’s life as an Awana leader! No preparation is required, just be ready to facilitate your group, sing songs, play games and listen to memorized Scripture!

Requirements:

  • Regularly attend The Orchard
  • Complete a screening process
  • Purchase a leader shirt

Please read through the descriptions of needs below and register to take the next step in the volunteer process. 

Once you fill in your preferences, our Awana Commander will be contacting you shortly.  If a commander or director has already contacted you, please complete the below fields and purchase a shirt so you will be ready for your first day of club!

Descriptions of needs:

Junior Leaders
A Junior Leader will assist the leader in each of the described activities.  The Junior Leader must be in 6th grade or higher to serve with the Cubbies or Sparks, and  7th grade or higher to serve in the T&T clubs. If you are a returning junior leader, review the Youth Helper Covenant before you register.

Cubbies Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of three-and-four year olds to reinforce the Bible teaching presented each club night, complete light administration (sign for recited Bible verses, take attendance, pass out patches earned, etc.), participate in large group and gym time activities.  Time commitment is under two hours on Tuesdays with holidays and spring break off.

Sparks Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of K-2nd graders to learn the major concepts, facts, and applications of their handbook. Keep contact outside of club with clubbers and parents; follow up on absentees and visitors. Assist with large group and gym time. Time commitment is two hours on Tuesdays and possibly a special event or two during the year, with holidays and spring break off.

T&T Girls Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of 3rd-5th grade girls to learn the major concepts, facts, and applications of their handbook. Keep contact outside of club with clubbers and parents; follow up on absentees and visitors. Assist with large group and gym time. Time commitment is two hours on Tuesdays and possibly a special event or two during the year, with holidays and spring break off.

T&T Boys Adult Leader
Lead and encourage a small group of 3rd-5th grade boys to learn the major concepts, facts, and applications of their handbook. Keep contact outside of club with clubbers and parents; follow up on absentees and visitors. Assist with large group and gym time. Time commitment is two hours on Tuesdays and possibly a special event or two during the year, with holidays and spring break off.

Substitutes
Serve as a substitute as needed when regular leaders are unavailable.
